DESCRIPTION
The flood alarm, model 84010 is a self contained electronic device to sound an alarm when its sensor is in contact with water. It operates on 9 volt battery. The electronic horn alarm is set off immediately when the two exposed copper wire ends (at the end of the sensor arm) contact the water or moisture. The sensor arm can be used in straight or bent form depending on its application. Once the battery is plugged in, the flood alarm is always in ON position. No adjustment is needed to operate this device.

INTRODUCTION TO USE
1. Slide the battery compartment cover out, unwrap the 9 volt heavy duty battery, and connect it to the battery snap. Place the connected battery into the compartment and close it with the sliding cover. Now the flood alarm is activated.
2. The Red LED will flash approximately every 30 seconds indicating its operation.
3. Test the device for alarm sound by immersing the end of the 11" sensor arm into water. You will hear a loud high pitch pulsating alarm. The Red LED will be on or flashing. This will indicate that device is ready for installation and use.
4. To stop the alarm raise the sensor arm out of water. Wipe off any excess water from the end of the sensor if the alarm does not stop immediately.
5. Under normal indoor conditions the 9 volt heavy duty battery should provide one year or more of service.
6. When the battery runs low the electronic horn will produce a short beep approximately every 30 seconds for about 20 days. When the short beeping occurs replace the battery immediately.
* Damp location or temperature may reduce battery life.

The flood alarm can be used in a fixed position, as a portable device or combination of both, by using special wall mounting bracket (part #8407).
A. Fixed Position.
Mount your flood alarm with one screw on a wall insuring that both end tips of the sensor arm are touching the floor, or any level you wish to monitor.
B. Use as a Portable Device.
The sensor arm is flexible, which can be used as the mounting means for hanging it over the edge or rim of a tub or any kind of vessel. The end of the sensor arm must always be on the side of the water to be monitored.
C. Combination Mounting. Fixed or Portable Use.
Mount the plastic wall bracket (part #8407) on the wall with two screws. Before drilling mounting holes, make sure that after the sensor arm is inserted through the bracket the end of the sensor arm is touching the surface you wish to monitor. This method allows you to use flood alarm for portable applications when you need it (for landry tub, bath-tub etc.) or fixed position when the unit is mounted on the wall bracket.
